Yet another science comes into existence around the 13th century: that of coinage. Minting your silver has no effect on the game (graphic or otherwise), but it does make it less expensive and easier to send gifts to other civilizations. In the game, researching Coinage reduces the fee associated with tributing to other players from 30% (meaning 30 additional resource is deducted from your stockpile for every 100 sent) to 20%.
