  • Militia, Knightly Infantry +10 HP, shorter training
  • Builders work 30% faster
  • Blacksmith archery upgrades 50% cheaper
  • Mercenary Warships benefit from Ballistics (fire faster, more accurately). In fact, they simply use a different shell.
  • Castles have more HP/garrisoning capacity, cost more
  • Has access to the Princely Court
  • Merchants and Trade Cogs return +33% florins (Team Bonus)

Policy Decisions Edit

Nobility - allows Royal Knight, +2 attack knightly units, castles 25% cheaper

Combined Arms - allows Longbow and Billmen research, militia +1 attack

Routier - Heavy Cavalry Archer

Gascon Crossbowman - short ranged Mercenary Crossbowman


Folktales - Peasants' combat skills are increased

Longbowmen - Archers receive +20 hit points, +4 attack and +2 range; requires Combined Arms

Infantry Edit

Militia Line - Militia units have +10 HP. Researching Combined Arms allows the training of Billmen and provides +1 attack.

Spearman Line - England receives both spearman-line units.

Cavalry Edit

Light Cavalry Line - England receives all units within this line.

Trooper - England receives this unit.

Lancer Line - England does NOT receive this line.

Militia Lancer Line - England receives both units within this line.

Ranged Edit

Skirmisher Line - England receives both units within this line. They have -10 HP, but are therefore cheaper.

Archer Line - England trains archers that can be further upgraded with the Longbow technology.

Cavalry Archer Line - England receives a unique unit within this line.

Siege Weapons Edit

Ram Line - England receives all units of this line.

Scorpion Line - England does NOT receive the Heavy Scorpion.

Mangonel Line - England does NOT recieve the Siege Onager.

Other Siege Units - England receives the Flemish Gunner and the Trebuchet.

Castle Units Edit

Knightly Infantry - England receives both units of this line with an additional +10 HP bonus.

Knightly Cavalry - Nobility upgrades Knights of the 14th century to become Royal Knights.

Naval Units Edit

Mercenary Warship Line - England receives both units of this line. They fire a different shell than the other seventeen civs; this causes the shell to land faster and more accurately.

Galley Line - England and sixteen other civs lack the Galeass.

War Cog - England and sixteen other civs lack the Holk.

Demolition Ship - England receives the Demolition Ship.

Technologies Edit

Blacksmith - Of 16 technologies available, England is able to research all except Iron Casting, Blast Furnace and Pavises.

Military - England can NOT research Drill Pikemen and Crossbow Companies.

Castle - England receives all technologies at this building.

Dock - England receives all technologies at this building.

Economy - England does NOT receive the Silver Shaft Mining and Crop Rotation.

Church - England does NOT receive the Conversion technologies.

Town Hall - England receives all technologies at this building.

University - England lacks the Treadmill Crane, Heated Shot and Siege Engineers.

Princely Court - England has the full array of techs to pick from.
