The Halbbruder is a unit of the knightly infantry class, unique to the Teutonic Order and available from the 14th Century onwards. It is a powerful unit, but slower than most infantry. Therefore, Halbbrüder are not suited for urgent relief missions or other situations where getting backup to the scene as soon as possible is crucial.

Commentary/Strategy[]
The Halbbruder may not be fast, but resistant and able to deal out a powerful blow. Additional efficiency through the Saxon attack speed bonus makes this unit the strongest infantry in Age of Chivalry Hegemony. There are hardly any direct counters to this unit and in numbers, Halbbrüder are almost unstoppable--but SLOOOOOOOOOOOW. A Teutonic player should, thus, have some Liv Auxiliaries at hand to keep priests and ranged units at bay.
Historical Background[]
Halbbrüder were apprentices of the Teutonic Order probably destined to one day become Ritterbrüder themselves. Their duties consisted of subordinate work and sentry why they were often treated as servants. In times of war, the Halbbrüder also served as foot soldiers supporting the heavily armed Ritterbrüder. Instead of black crosses, Halbbrüder adopted the black Tau cross, a truncated form of cross resembling a 'T'.
