Mangonel

The Mangonel is a catapult-like siege weapon that specializes in attacks against large groups of units. It does this by firing deadly grapeshot that causes multiple units within an area to take damage, an effect commonly known as "splash damage" (not to be confused with the "blast radius" of rams). Mangonels also carry attack bonuses vs. buildings and siege weapons. The Mangonel upgrades to the Onager.

Unit Strategy[]

Mangonels can be used in a couple of ways: as medium-ranged tools to disrupt groups of enemy units before a melee, busting individual units such as rams or trebuchets, or as short-range weapons to maximize impact. As with all forms of siege equipment, they should be guarded; however, they are capable of defending themselves at a fairly short range,
